Federico Gianoli is a freelance geographer specialized in Geographical Information System Science. He received his bachelor degree in Geography of Regional Processes at the University of Padova (2011) and a Master’s in Management and Organization of Regional and Local Processes (2012) at the Spanish University of Seville with a dissertation on “ESRI Network Analyst Tool and Multicriteria Analysis Applied to Sustainable Mobility”.

Federico has worked for over 2 years as a GIS analyst for SGI-Studio Galli Ingegneria, an international engineering company based in Padova, Italy. Thanks to his studies and past experiences, he has gained an extensive expertise in development of feasibility studies, master and structural plans. He is also collaborating with Geographica S.L., a Spanish leading company in the field of GIS Science, in the development of Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing and Database management aimed at information and data processing. Moreover, he has experience as trainer for GIS application (ESRI and QGIS) for many companies and institutions (University of Padova, Fondazione Fenice Onlus, Tecna, Regional Park of Alta Valle Antrona, etc.). He is also working on UAV and photogrammetry and he is one of the few certified pilot of Trimble – UX5 Rover in Italy.

Since March 2016 he is collaborating with the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Padua, in the coordination of the didactic activities for the Professional Master in GIScience and Unmanned System for the integrated management of the territory and the natural resources. In the framework of the GIScience Master, Federico is the teacher of three courses: “GIS base level”, “Creation and management of WebGIS” and “Remote sensing with UAV”.

Volunteer work is extremely important to Federico. He has served communities devastated by the L’Aquila Earthquake, worked in Padua soup kitchens, and served 10 years as Scout Leader for CNGEI, an Italian Boy Scouts Association.

He is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and English, and currently lives in Padua, Italy.
